Leadership in action

The driving force for continued growth

Meet the Board of Directors for Our Foundation

The Board facilitates the exchange of ideas and information with WSU Extension and serves as advisor to the Snohomish County Program Coordinator. The Board interacts with WSU Extension and reviews and approves the Memorandum of Agreement with Washington State University Extension on a regular basis to maintain a clear understanding of all roles and responsibilities to ensure the growth and success of the Master Gardener program in Snohomish County

Board Overview:

Board of Directors members are elected by the Foundation membership to serve two-year terms but not more than seven consecutive years. The Board of Directors manages the affairs of the Foundation on behalf of its membership of Master Gardener volunteers. Their main duties are to accept contributions and administer those funds.

The Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, comprised of 11 to 13 members. Board members are elected at the annual election meeting each March. About half of the Board members are elected each year and each member serves for two years. Board members serve as liaisons between the Foundation, the Program, and the Community, and provide leadership for Foundation activities (although other members provide plenty of leadership, too). Officers (president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer) are selected from the Board.

The Foundation meets the third Tuesday of each month except July, August, and December, at 9:30 am. Meetings usually last about an hour and are often followed by an educational seminar or workshop. All Master Gardeners and trainees are invited and encouraged to attend.
